ABOUT WILLIAM WANG

I am a Canadian executive with over 27 years of experience in international trade, government relations, economic development, and strategic market engagement. I previously served as the Director of the Government of Alberta’s China Offices (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou) and as the Director for Greater China Branch for the Government of Saskatchewan, where I led provincial China strategies, built long-term partnerships, and delivered measurable economic outcomes.My work has directly contributed to:• $5.5B in Alberta exports to China in 2023, an 8.9% year-over-year increase• $1.7B in investment attraction for Saskatchewan• Expanded market access in agriculture, energy, mining, advanced manufacturing• Strengthened cross-government policy coordination between Canada and ChinaI am currently the CEO of Indigenous International Trading Group of Canada (IITGC), supporting Canadian governments, utilities, and Indigenous organizations in accessing global suppliers, managing procurement challenges, and building international partnerships. IITGC’s portfolio includes clients such as the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), Department of National Defence, RCMP, Farm Credit Canada (FCC), SIGA, Elections Saskatchewan, City of Saskatoon, City of Delta, and several provincial governments.My contributions have been recognized with the Saskatchewan Premier’s Award for Excellence in Public Service, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, and the King Charles Coronation Medal.Bilingual in English and Mandarin, I bring deep expertise in cross-cultural negotiation, government policy, procurement, and international trade.
