ABOUT CRAIG WILLIAMS
I’m an Innovation Liaison Officer at Wrexham University, where I connect industry and academia to deliver projects that create real-world impact. Over the last 2 years I’ve led initiatives spanning renewable energy, decarbonisation, and technology innovation — from feasibility studies for housing associations and heritage railways to new biomedical and digital solutions.I thrive on spotting opportunities for improvement and turning ideas into funded projects, helping organisations access expertise, resources and knowledge transfer partnerships. My background in Renewable & Sustainable Engineering means I naturally bring a sustainability mindset to everything I do — focusing on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and embedding long-term change.Right now, I’m especially interested in the overlap between Lean methodologies and sustainability. My experience working in a Kaizen environment at GDLS gave me a strong foundation in continuous improvement, which I now combine with my passion for carbon reduction and innovation.Looking ahead, my ambition is to build a career as an Energy & Sustainability Consultant, helping organisations cut costs, reduce emissions and build resilience through smart change.
