WORK HISTORY
Summer School Coordinator @CS Partners
US
As Summer School Program Coordinator, I designed and led a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary summer education initiative serving 60 middle school students in Detroit. The program blended core academics (ELA & Math) with daily arts, physical education, and enrichment activities—culminating in weekly field trips to major cultural institutions including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Motown Museum, and Charles H. Wright Museum.Key Responsibilities: • Developed a 4-week curriculum integrating state standards with visual and performing arts. • Coordinated a team of 8 educators and enrichment leaders across ELA, Math, Band Camp, Art, and Physical Education. • Oversaw all scheduling, logistics, and instructional planning, including 55-minute block lessons and optional afternoon programming. • Managed daily operations, student group rotations, and field trip coordination for multiple Detroit-based cultural sites. • Implemented formative assessments, pre-tests, and differentiated instruction for rising 5th–8th grade students. • Led community engagement initiatives and ensured alignment between academic goals and student interests. • Created original instructional content, organized materials, and developed evaluation metrics to measure student progress.Highlights: • Integrated culturally responsive teaching methods rooted in local history, music, and art. • Delivered daily leadership huddles and team-building sessions with staff to ensure program alignment and support. • Increased student engagement and attendance through dynamic, hands-on learning opportunities.
