About William Hinderman

I am a product and engineering leader with senior management experience at some of the largest companies in America. I speak at as many conferences as I can about the future of technology teams, development, data visualization, and cross-platform design.Most recently, I led the clinical experience department within the product and engineering organization at One Medical. This department consisted of four teams responsible for the whole of our clinical and care teams\' experiences. I simultaneously led our design systems team at One Medical. I left One Medical in April of 2024 and used the remainder of the year to pursue my own personal goals and projects.Prior to One Medical, I led three teams at Rally Health, creating experiences on both on the customer and employee facing applications managed by Rally, and our parent company United Healthcare.I led the web platform for Vivid Seats, managing two full stack teams responsible for our entire web marketplace experience, experimentation engine, and analytics platform.I’m the author of Building Responsive Data Visualization for the Web, a book on the processes of building code-driven data visualization upon the principles of responsive and API-first web design.I served as Chief Technology Officer at Direct by Vaystays, an operations, customer experience, and distribution software platform for professional vacation rental management companies. I pivoted our product from a small AirBnB clone to a successful SaaS platform for vacation rental property managers.I am the founder of Shortwave a platform for adaptive podcast hosting, syndication, and analytics. More recently, I created Nomad, a group communication app for motorcycle clubs.I have also led engineering efforts within optimization and experimentation at Expedia Inc, and Orbitz Worldwide. The teams I built and managed created both the framework for and the mindset around lightweight A/B experimentation within these companies\' eCommerce experiences. I have a proven record of building product development practices from the ground up, focusing on experimenting and optimizing across all product verticals while simultaneously accelerating and training specific product teams to do the same.I\'m here to help.
