About William Hayden
William Hayden is a licensed professional engineer with over 39 years of experience in naval architecture and marine engineering. He holds licenses in Texas, Florida, and New York and has extensive experience in the design and construction of various types of vessels, including hovercraft, LNG carriers, floating power plants, FLNG production units, mobile offshore drilling rigs, tankers, containerships, and industrial vessels. He has comprehensive knowledge of international safety regulations and classification society rules.Currently, William is the Senior VP/Chief Engineer at Maritime Engineering, LLC, based in Houston, TX. In this role, he is responsible for preparing design and engineering specifications for new vessel construction and existing vessel modifications. He is the project manager for various projects, including preliminary design and engineering for an OTEC power plant; feasibility studies for a 500-Mw Floating Gas Turbine Power Plant; providing expert witness services for seamen\'s fatality legal cases, and performing crane lift stability calculations for USACE lock and dam repair projects. Prior to his current role, William was the Principal Engineer at Waller Marine, Inc, also based in Houston, TX, from 2008 to 2018. Here, he managed a staff of naval architects and ocean engineers and prepared design and engineering for new vessel construction and existing vessel modifications. The Offshore Engineering Manager is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG’s dynamic team; leading the set up of a competent engineering organization dedicated to design and conversion of two (2) LNGC tankers to Floating Storage Facilities and provide engineering support to the project, plant operations and maintenance to ensure successful start-up and safe and reliable operation of the facility. I report directly to the Offshore Project Manager and play an essential part in supporting the company’s engineering and senior management team through the engineering, construction, and installation phases of the project.The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG. Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.
