I am an accomplished, team-oriented executive leader with a proven record of driving positive outcomes, consensus building, risk management, plus development of high performing teams, with a great breadth of experience across the aerospace, government relations, international partnership building, military operations, plus strategy sectors of the Department of Defense. I have a proven track record of delivering consequential positive results built from a deep knowledge of the legislative and appropriations processes, plus the federal requirements, budgeting, and acquisition processes, the defense industry, including the technologies and trends that are shaping the future of the global security environment. With this experience, I have come to understand to avoid irrelevance in today’s dynamic global environment, both industry and government institutions must be more agile, embrace innovation, plus center their energies on tackling meaningful problems. I’ve earned a reputation for clear and effective communication with key congressional, military, civilian leaders, and C-Suite executives, plus was recognized as a skilled negotiator among stakeholders with diverse interests. Most recently these skills have produced winning results in the corporate sector for a defense tech company over two budget cycles, and just previously as the SECNAV, CNO, and CMC\'s lead Navy and Marine Corps military liaison to the Members and professional staff of the Senate and House Appropriations Committees. Organizational success - I learned leading small, medium, and large, multifaceted organizations with diverse missions – either, taking them from good to great, or poor performers to winners, or building a ‘first of’ team – my leadership style centered on setting a clear VISION, developing a winning CULTURE, all based on sound VALUES. Investing in and trusting individuals on the team, earning trust through competence and character, while learning fast from failure, and deliberately reflecting on achievements, were essential attributes for our teams’ continued success.My thirst to learn, keen self-awareness, positive attitude, and respect for colleagues, coupled with my ‘culture rules’ mentality fueled success in organizations across the globe. In addition to the success of these outfits, I developed a robust world-wide network of personal and professional relationships. I am fortunate in family, passionate about leading teams that deliver winning results, and amazed every day my job provides the chance to make a positive impact.
