I’m an Associate Professor teaching African American literature, creative writing, composition, and humanities—with a focus on the Harlem Renaissance and storytelling that connects past and present. I also lead the campus Writing Center, where I host podcasts and create resources to help students grow as confident, capable writers.In and out of the classroom, I’m committed to student success. I mentor undergraduates on everything from course planning and study habits to managing distractions and finding their community. Whether I’m teaching college students or speaking to K–12 youth, I believe in meeting people where they are and making education feel personal, relevant, and empowering.
