ABOUT WENYUAN TANG
I graduated from the University of Toronto (UofT) in 2024 with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science (Major in Engineering Math, Stats, and Finance). During my undergraduate study, I did multiple research and course projects at the intersection of mathematics and finance- Internship: worked at CPP Investments as a senior intern analyst in the trading team. I developed tools to automate P&L calculation and generation and a Python detector to spot crossing opportunities between internal trading accounts- Research 1: calculated marginal and cascade sensitivities of various parameters for an insurance portfolio- Research 2: explored portfolio optimization techniques using various financial optimization models. I am passionate about the research aspect of quant and look forward to solving some of the existing challenging problems in the field of quantitative finance.
