ABOUT WILLIAM W. PRATER

Experienced Management Director with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Strong professional with 25 plus years in Behavioral Health and Addiction Medicine with 9 years as a corporate program medical director, 25 years of private practice and 8 years of behavioral health utilization management, 6 of which at director level. I have worked with and helped develop some of the finest chemical dependency and dual diagnosis programs in the country for both adult and adolescents at multiple facilities including Horizon Hospital in Dallas, TX, HCA Willow Park Hospital in Plano, TX, Charter Hospital of Dallas, Lahacienda Treatment Center in Hunt, TX, Starlite Village Hospital in Center Point, TX, Origins Recovery Center in South Padre Island, TX, Infinite Recovery in Austin, TX, and most recently BRC Recovery in Manor, TX. Over the last 3 decades, I not only utilized the 12 step treatment model but also developed programs for treatment resistant patients, relapse prevention, co-occurring disorders and process addictions. I was an early pioneer in utilizing Holotropic Breathwork as well as EEG neurofeedback to assist in trauma resolution, non-chemical treatment of ADD/ADHD and transformative facilitation. I was among the first 100 people certified by ASAM in 1987, and set up one of the first IOP programs for chemical dependency in the Dallas area, the Prater Group.
