Wastewater treatment for most communities constitutes the largest public investment in environmental management. The vast majority of agencies meets regulatory requirements for discharge of effluent, but they could be much more. they could be the lead agency for accomplishing community sustainability goals. They could recycle water, reuse nutrients, produce energy, return stormwater to soil, and protect human and ecological health.My vision holds wastewater as a community resource and that each agency maximizes its potential for sustainable practices and enjoys the recognition and support of its customers.
