About Bill Strait

In my role as Americas Vice Chair – Finance & Operations, I oversee the financial and operational aspects of EY in the Americas. I am responsible for leading a team of professionals who manage the day-to-day operations, financial performance and enablement of the firm. I am passionate about evolving our business and go-to-market strategy, increasing operational efficiency, maintaining a strong focus on quality, investing in technology of the future and fostering a strong organizational culture. With over 30 years of experience, I bring forward-looking financial strategy and planning, business insight, deep understanding of the EY organization and processes and extensive experience running a P&L. Previously, I was EY Americas Assurance Deputy Vice Chair, leading all aspects of the Americas Assurance strategy, including growth, quality, risk, talent, operations, brand and culture. I also served as the EY Houston Office Managing Partner from 2017 to 2020, where I cultivated an inclusive culture of high performance and competed in the market to deliver the firm’s full capabilities. Other leadership roles include serving as the presiding partner for the Americas Advisory Council and US Partner/Principal Council and as a member of the EY Global Governance Council and the EY Global Firm Audit Committee. As a proud Texan, I do my best to give back to my community and I’m privileged to serve on the board of directors of the Greater Houston Partnership, the Central Houston Partnership and the American Heart Association. I’m a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and an alumnus of Baylor University, where I sit on the advisory board for its Hankamer School of Business. I am a graduate of Baylor University and a member of Chapelwood Methodist Church. I’m actively involved in Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association, an advisory board member of Houston Achievement Place, and am an active member of Lakeside Country Club.
