About William Richmond
I love to learn. As a professor, I was blessed with numerous opportunities to do so. I taught 14 different courses in a10 year time frame. Each course enabled me to delve into and learn about a new area. I have been especially lucky to have been both a Computer Information Systems professor and an Entrepreneurship professor, so I have taught and learned about new technologies as well as new business models. For my research, I explored sourcing choices, IT security, data base search, server configuration, software life, teaching approaches and entrepreneurial characteristics. Each topic required different approaches, was based in a different body of literature and opened new dimensions of experience and thought. Coupled with the research, I worked with local organizations – everything from writing software to planning and working a community festival – something I never expected to experience. I have now moved on to new adventures. I attended the Master of Science in Analytics program at the Institute for Advanced Analytics at NC State and then went on to Capital One. Now, I am learning card economics, expanding my analytics and developing more leadership skills
