About William Ota
I am a freshwater ecologist and leader in growing graduate student Science Policy organizations. I study how cities and invasive species are changing freshwater ecosystems for threatened and endangered species. I collaborate with local, state, federal, non-profit, and agencies to complete conservation, community, invasion, and reconciliation ecology work. As a leader within science policy organizations, I have provided education and training to graduate students to learn what science policy is, build skills, and apply these skills through writing and fellowship programs. I am currently a PhD candidate at UC Riverside, Chair of the Ecological Society of America Policy Section, and Chair-Elect of the National Science Policy Network.
