About William McKay

Despite being 6\'6\'\' my lack of athleticism has prevented me from joining the NBA. As a result of this tragedy, I enrolled into the University of California, Irvine and I am now pursuing my bachelors\' in political science as well as my bachelors\' in sociology. I intend on becoming a teacher at either the High School or Middle School level and giving back to communities less privileged than my own through education.In high school I was awarded valedictorian of Woodrow Wilson Classical High School, I founded and served as the president of Model United Nations there and I was a finalist for the Posse Scholarship foundation.Upon entering University I wanted to improve myself socially so I joined the Mu-Delta chapter of Kappa Sigma and have loved it ever since. I spend a lot of time being involved in the Greek community at UC Irvine. In 2019, I severed as our chapter\'s philanthropy/alumni chair while I was also a member of the Interfraternity Council’s executive board, holding the position of Vice President of Scholarship. I then decided to take a second term on both of these executive boards and served as the ritual/brotherhood chair for the Mu-Delta chapter of Kappa Sigma as well as the president of the Interfraternity Council, leading our fraternity community safely through the COVID-19 pandemic.In an attempt to begin working with children and to learn the psychology and skills necessary to be effective in a teaching environment, I accepted a position from CORE athletic training. I now hold the position of coach at CORE athletic training, where we use sports to build our student\'s confidence and self esteem as well as athleticism, balance, coordination and other athletic qualities. The majority of my time is spent assisting the directors of the basketball program.
