About William Maudlin

Started with Alabama Power in June of as GIS Specialist in Department of Southern GIS and later moved to GIS Project Lead. Worked from 2004 to 2007 in Land Acquisition section of Corporate Real Estate, at Alabama Power, as a Real Estate Specialist. Served as Encroachment Supervisor from 2007 to 2011, in Transmission department, at Alabama Power. From 2011 to 2018 I have served as Land Manager over the Land department at Gulf Power Company, a subsidiary of Southern Company. From 2019 until 2021 I served as Manager of Land Acquisition Services for Gulf Power Company, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy. During this time I also work as part of the integration team representing real estate matters to ensure smooth transition of Gulf Power into the NextEra Energy business model. During this same time period I also served as a team member representing real estate matters for the merger of Gulf Power Company into Florida Power & Light Company, which occurred January 2022. From January to June of 2022 I served as the Manager of Land Acquisition Services for the Northwest Region of Florida Power & Light Company. Since June of 2022 I have served as the Project Director of Corporate Real Estate for the Northwest Region of Florida Power & Light Company.In my current role I work to provide leadership and direction to the Corporate Real Estate team to effectively manage the acquisition of real estate assets throughout the North and Northwest Region of Florida Power & Light Company. Provide oversight to right-of-way acquisition firms and other land-related vendors, such as appraisals, survey and title companies as needed to ensure goals and targets are being met consistently and within the required parameters to support transmission, substations, pipelines, solar, and other generation sources. Our team manages company land records, real estate related litigation, and appraisal. We coordinate with internal/external legal counsel on all eminent domain activities related to acquisition. Specialize in asset protection through permitting and removal of encroachments on both company owned land and easements.
