The company is committed to proving the cerebroprotective benefits of enhancing astrocyte function, and advancing breakthrough therapeutic agents for treating brain injury resulting from stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. Astrocyte was founded in 2014 by Dr. William Korinek and Dr. James Lechleiter. Responsibilities include: establishing company strategy and vision, leading execution of short and long term plans, fund raising, team building, and managing the company\'s budget and capital.
