As the Director of Apprenticeships and External Partnerships, HHS, I steward the apprenticeship process for healthcare providers and the United States Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP). This work is done through partnerships with employers, non-profits, and USDOL. My office is responsible for the day to day operation and oversight of all processes, data collection and performance reports related to a USDOL Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC) grant. I serve as liaison to employers for program coordination and frictionless processes for Lansing Community College, HHS programs, and collaborative programs in which LCC serves as lead through the Consortium for Michigan Educational Programs in Collaboration/Michigan Colleges Online (MCO). In conjunction with community partners I develop and support RAPs tailored to the employers’ needs; prepare the program budget and monitor expenditures; provide grant management oversight in relation to apprenticeships, and maintain liaisons with external agencies and advisory committees regarding issues of program development and service delivery.
