ABOUT WILLIAM HUFFMAN
William Huffman is an administrator, curator, educator and writer with a history of extensive involvement on both local and international cultural fronts. He was Executive Director with Inuit Art Foundation, Coordinator of Audience and Market Development at Canada Council for the Arts, Associate Director with Toronto Arts Council and Toronto Arts Foundation and has held other leadership positions at a number of Canadian cultural institutions. Under the leadership of its Board of Directors, Huffman is currently Executive Manager responsible for all operational and planning aspects at West Baffin Cooperative, working between its Kinngait (Nunavut) and Toronto offices. Managing several divisions and a team of 65 staff across two locations, he is charged with ensuring the prosperity of this venerable Inuit owned social enterprise. Additionally, Huffman oversees the organization\'s special projects, government relations, marketing and communications initiatives. On behalf of West Baffin Cooperative, his recent curatorial projects include many national and international traveling exhibitions including Kenojuak Ashevak: Life and Legacy and Pudlo Pudlat: Art is Life. In 2023 and 2024 Huffman was appointed Commissioner of the Canadian Pavilion for the Gwangju Biennale in the Republic of Korea.
