About William Howieson

I am a practical tax and business attorney who partners with clients to solve complex legal problems. Further, I work with family-owned and closely-held businesses to resolve federal, state and local tax issues. I also advise clients on general corporate and transactional matters. I received my J.D, magna cum laude, from William & Mary Law School. I am also an inductee into the Order of the Coif. Additionally, I received the John Donaldson Tax Award, which goes to the most outstanding tax student. Lastly, I received the Gambrell Professionalism Award, which goes to the student who best represents professionalism, public service, integrity, and dedication to the improvement of lawyering skills. Previously, I was a high school math teacher while also coaching cross country, track & field, and knowledge bowl. I taught intermediate and advanced algebra as well as statistics. I worked with many diverse students on a daily basis and created cherished relationships along the way. I constantly used real world examples and projects in class to make mathematics come to life for high school students. While not in school, I love to run marathons, hike Civil War battlefields, curl (Sweep!), read, drink good coffee, and spend time with my amazing family and friends.
