   Data Center Manager for one of Verizon’s largest premier data centers. I manage a team of twenty-five members covering both facilities (UPS, Generators, HVAC system, Fire detection and suppression) and IT functions (IT hardware installations, troubleshooting, break / fix activities and warehouse management.)• Implemented new guidelines for space planning to stop horizontal sprawl of the data center space. Using Power, space, cooling and network requirements to guide placement of new incoming hardware.• Implement new cabling practices to ensure full capacity of rows and cabinets could be utilized allowing for maximum flexibility for placement of equipment.• Manage all IT hardware installations, decommissioning and destruction (recycling) of all hardware.• Responsible for all audits and Verizon physical compliance activities for the site. • Organized and directed changes to the incoming equipment ticketing system. Continue to participated in system improvements and changes.• Supported the implementation of new DCIM (DCtrak) within the facility and across multiple data centers.• Facilitated many UPS upgrades / refreshes, the addition of generators and a cooling / chiller.• Added IT load of over 4MW of hardware in five years.• Work very closely with my internal customers, network, storage, server and application owners.
