Maji Walinzi is a not for profit, 501(c3) organization who\'s mission is to promote the implementation of long-term groundwater monitoring systems within East Africa. Our name is derived from Kiswahili and means \"Water Guardians\". The rapid onset of global climate change coupled with an increasing demand on groundwater resources, results in uncertainty regarding the sustainability of those critical water resources. Without knowing the quantity of the resource and how that resource is being affected by increased withdrawal and changing recharge, many countries in East Africa (and elsewhere) are setting themselves up for a humanitarian disaster.Inquiries about our mission and vision are welcome.
