William offers a deep, broad and unique skill set that is a huge asset in today\'s fast-paced service environment. He engages, interacts with and leads teams towards successful and profitable outcomes. He is a dedicated and mindful team member. Communication and presentation are two of his strong suits. He has worked in BIM for over 10 years and understands that a revolution in Architecture and Building is underway. William Huchting is a licensed architect in Illinois and has directed makeArchitecture for well over a decade. He is formerly Associate Professor and Chair of both Architecture and the Construction Management programs at Oakton Community College. There he taught design studio, building construction, sustainability and codes and zoning. His last exhibition featured a never-before-seen model of a powerful, but little known work of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. William is the editor of The Farnsworth House and is the author of the forthcoming book on Mies and believes that education, mindfulness, and meticulously made third wave coffee are the keys to happiness and a better life. William worked at Powell Kleinschmidt and introduced the first Macintosh to PK. He designed their graphics and was a draftsman. The standard of excellence instilled in us at PK is what he aspires to. A graduate of IIT, William was a student of both George Schipporeit and Alfred Caldwell, the architects of Lake Point Tower and its private pocket park. Caldwell was vehement about “putting two bricks together to make Architecture.” William added shadow, texture and pattern to the flat English bonds Caldwell championed, a direction that Caldwell probably would have frowned upon, but, William surmises, would have grown on him over time. Hopefully, he is smiling somewhere today.
