Worked towards automating the production process of ROHACELL polymer foam, which is used in the aerospace and automotive industries. By designing and building a system consisting of multiple sensors, selected material properties are measured with the end goal of refining the production process.Worked towards refining and standardising a 4-point bending testing regime for Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) panel structures used in the wind power industry. Studied the resin infusion process used to manufacture GFRP. Altered the materials & production parameters to study the changes in mechanical properties of the resulting sandwich structure.
