ABOUT WILLIAM DAWSON

Hi my name is Will and I am the Chief Executive of OneMedical Group. OneMedical Group believes that the best healthcare is driven by people working in a positive culture where they themselves are supported and their well-being is well looked after. We are building a healthier future for all, and are on a mission to reshape healthcare, to deliver better care and improve the health and wellbeing of our communities in an equitable way. As a healthcare leader I want to inspire and empower people, giving them knowledge and control over their own health, so they can make healthier choices and live healthier lives. I feel privileged to work in this industry and want our people to love what they do. I am passionate about supporting everyone with their health and wellbeing and creating a safe and supportive environment for all, and this includes championing good wellbeing for both patients and our staff. I work to ensure all our staff have fulfilling careers and are supported to deliver the highest quality of care to all. Qualifying from the University of Leeds School of Medicine, I have made Yorkshire my home ever since, undertaking my post graduate training in general practice across the county. In 2017 I participated in the Health Foundation’s Generation Q fellowship programme, undertaking post graduate training in quality improvement and leadership, designed for senior leaders from healthcare, policy and the charity sector. We studied at Ashridge Executive Education, which is part of Hult International Business School. Through this I have met many incredible and inspiring people and made friends for life. I believe in compassionate inclusive leadership and feel privileged to work with a diverse group of talented, generous, and fun people. I am always looking to learn and to listen to others. I have a supportive and fantastic family, and two amazing girls who give me a reason to smile each and every day. I am a movie geek, eclectic music fan, cancer survivor, and love to cook. Forever learning and trying to do better. My personal values are; understanding, connection, and responsibility.
