Our company, Interstitial Systems, manufactures the energy saving two-tier raised floor electro-mechanical distribution system that delivers conditioned air through a leak-free and truly pressurized lower tier, and houses electrical services in the upper tier. Effective pressurization makes it possible to bring conditioned air directly to the equipment at the precise rate required. Providing a pressure plenum isolated from the electrical tier above almost always means that the overall floor height can be reduced and, since conditioned air does not leak through cable cut-outs, floor joints, and openings created by removed floor panels, you will never have hot spots or cold spots. The result is that the 25%(at least) energy waste that is universally acknowledged for conventional under floor air distribution is virtually eliminated. Capital costs are also reduced because with Interstitial it is possible to use fewer but larger AHUs placed on the room\'s perimeter, or to switch to a design using central station air conditioners.Clearly, the market is ready and desperately in need of a product that is more functional and sustainable.
