ABOUT WILLIAM CLEARY

Principal Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC (WEC). Has held manufacturing and technology positions in the petroleum, steel, and chemical industries. More recently, supplier manufacturing and design engineering positions in the automotive and nuclear industries. Currently, leading efforts within WEC’s Nuclear Fuel and Components Manufacturing division to develop Additive Manufacturing (AM) for production of nuclear fuel components. These efforts have included evaluations of various AM production equipment, alloys, vendors, and processes. Led the world’s first project to produce, irradiate, and evaluate AM materials for use in the nuclear reactor environment as well as production of the first component scheduled to be installed in a commercial reactor. Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Eastern Michigan University
