ABOUT WILLIAM BROWN

William S. Brown is a litigation partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP who practices in the Greenville, South Carolina office, primarily in the areas of product liability and business litigation and has served as the litigation team leader in Greenville.Mr. Brown has handled claims of product liability, professional negligence, business torts, lender liability, trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair trade practices, antitrust, ERISA, premises liability, general negligence, transportation law, securities litigation, and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Brown has extensive experience in state and federal courts and in arbitration. He has handled litigation on regional and national bases, as well as an extensive practice throughout South Carolina. Mr. Brown is member of the South Carolina Bar and its Practice and Procedure Committee, serving as Committee Chairman from 20••••08. Mr. Brown is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. Prior to joining the firm he served as law clerk to U.S. District Judge Henry M. Herlong, Jr. of South Carolina. Mr. Brown is a member of the American Bar Association, the Transportation Practice Group of the American Law Firm Association, the Defense Research Institute (Product Liability Committee), the Greenville Bar Association, and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association (a member of the Board of Directors from 2006-present, serving as Secretary (2013), Treasurer (2014), President Elect (2015), and President (2016)). He is also a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference.Mr. Brown earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1991 and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Wofford College in 1988.Specialties: Product liability, business litigation, general litigation and ERISA.
