Barry joined his father in 1997 to help with the family construction business while maintaining his day-to-day responsibilities at the telecom company until 2007. In 2007, Barry transitioned his career focus to diversifying the general construction capabilities at Brown Construction for a brighter future -from site grading, to utilities, to full turn-key commercial construction. Barry maintains general contractor/solar licenses in Tennessee and Alabama.In 2010, Barry saw the need for alternative power and applied for several PV solar projects through TVA. Barry was granted 5MW of approved projects in Tennessee on land which he owned. Barry developed and constructed the largest solar projects at that time for Tennessee.
