ABOUT WILLIAM BARRIE
I am a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. My work focusses on developing and employing computational methods to infer the ancestry of genetic variants, and to investigate the evolutionary origins of mutations which are harmful to human health. I apply these methods to ancient and modern DNA, including very large biobank-scale datasets. I have strong research, computational and communication skills, with a First Class degree and PhD in computational genetics from the University of Cambridge. My PhD research was published in four papers (three as joint first author) in the journal Nature and featured on the front cover in January 2024.
