   Summer 2009, 20••••15. Work as part of a two-person college counseling team that helps orient the newly arrived scholars to the American educational system and to provide them with some of the fundamental tools they will need to be successful when they get to their boarding schools for a postgraduate year in the US. The college counselors work with students to develop helpful resumes for their eventual boarding school college counselor, provide first-hand information and tours of a variety college campuses throughout the New England area, coordinate individual and group meetings with numerous colleges and universities from around the country, and help each student develop a balanced list of colleges to begin researching prior to their arriving at their boarding schools in the fall. As part of the college list development, the program also helps students develop the skills necessary to find information both on the web and via written material. Students are provided examples of how to advocate for themselves and ask appropriate questions that will eventually help them develop a strong admissions profile. The college counseling program is part of a larger orientation and highly successful program that emphasizes essay writing, communication skills, cultural orientation, and appropriate preparation for taking required standardized tests. In 2016, will move into the lead counselor position and coordinate a review of the curriculum, develop a video library, coordinate with college visits, orchestrate college visits and create an college counselor advisory board.
