About Will Hortman
I have always enjoyed opportunities where I have the autonomy to lead innovative environments to be a catalyst for new ideas. I lead with a clear vision and plan to inspire those I work around while working hand-in-hand with designers on modern usability design on platforms. My deep experience across ecommerce platforms leverages design research, modern trends, and insights from users, tech, and business to spot opportunities for innovation. I have particularly enjoyed leadership roles where I’m challenged by thought leadership. I’m a self-starter and able to thrive in ambiguity where I can collaborate cross-functionally to help improve product and engineering processes, coach/mentor designers, and leverage divergent thinking to the most complex design problems. My strengths include being innovative, challenged-driven, and strategic. I work well with all levels in the organization to create wins for everyone involved and look for opportunities to grow myself and others beyond the status quo. I build strong bridges and mutually respectful relationships by seeing all points of view. I bring people together towards productive outputs that move projects forward. In terms of making a difference with what I do – I always aim to think outside the box, collaborate as a team member building a better organization, better teams, and a better self.
