As filming in Georgia continues to thrive, hundreds of thousands of Georgians are working in the industry. From actors, directors, and producers to the below the line crews that make it all come together, Georgia is becoming a leader in film, television, and video game production. Producers and executives out of LA and NYC are still contracting below the line crews out of those markets for productions filmed or created in Georgia. Those companies then sub-contract Georgia firms to do the work. Georgia crews design, create, and run the production. Qualified Georgia companies deserve the right to bid at the top rung.Through conversations with producers, directors, PA’s, and other industry decision makers, Studio City realized that the best way we can help is to create a platform of qualified members that is easily attainable by the people making the contracting decisions. We also work closely with organizations like the Georgia Production Partnership to make sure productions are able to take full advantage of the tax incentives available. There is also a lack of shared work space dedicated to the entertainment industry in Georgia. Studio City is committed to opening efficient, secured, workspaces that meet MPAA standards and speak directly to the concerns of the industry.
