I currently serve as the Assistant Director for the Leonard D. Schaeffer Fellows in Government Service program, which supports 50 undergraduate summer interns at all levels of government with a stipend and robust professional development. I am committed to expanding awareness about opportunities for emerging leaders and scholars through fellowships, scholarships, and professional development to prepare engaged citizens. I view learning broadly as a combination of skill-building, relationship-building, and the opportunity to think critically about the most urgent questions facing our world.

   Strategizes with Executive Director to outline goals, budget, and curriculum for national professional development programming• Provides one-on-one support for 50 Schaeffer Fellows selected nationally at five universities to communicate requirements, share resources for government internship preparedness, and connect individuals to fellowship events• Manages campus recruitment and selection of ten Schaeffer Fellows at the University of Southern California (USC) annually• Communicates with partnering internship offices at the local, state, and federal levels of government to secure ten full-time Schaeffer Fellow placements through USC each summer and match each Schaeffer Fellow with an alumni mentor• Supports population of 318 alumni through an online community and recruits alumni for volunteer positions each year• Coordinates a three-day conference for Fellows each summer including managing a budget of booking Fellows’ travel and accommodations, negotiating contracts, scheduling, identifying professional and alumni speakers, and hosting sessions• Creates annual 60-page professional development manual for distribution to 50 Fellows and annual reports to highlight Fellows, accomplishments, and performance each year
