ABOUT WILL WOLFENDEN

I am a pragmatic and collaborative pensions’ actuary who looks to build strong open relationships with clients. I recognise that no one answer fits all and always seek to give the advice that will best suit each client. I have significant experience of delivering innovative solutions for my clients with a dedicated ‘hands-on’ approach.I have been providing pensions advice to both trustees and sponsoring employers for over 20 years. I have a wide range of specialist skills, advising both trustees and corporates, as well as in the past providing investment advice. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and am a Scheme Actuary to seven defined benefit (some with defined contribution elements) pension schemes. Having been an investment adviser in the past, I use my investment expertise to help my clients to understand fully the link between the investment and funding strategies and how that will impact their path to their end game. My other main role is as Product Manager for all technology within our Advisory business which includes also being Head of Radar - Radar is our proprietary modelling software, bringing together every aspect of the financial position of a pension scheme in one place. Radar lets you interrogate the current funding position, the risks being run, and crucially lets you model the impact of actions you could take to improve the situation. Radar has won the ‘Software of the Year’ award at the Actuarial Post Awards for the three of the last five years. My role is to ensure that we maintain technology at the forefront of everything we do and keep developing Radar so that it keeps our clients on course for success!In my spare time, I try to spend as much time as possible with my family, which these days generally turns into a weekend of following my children around different sporting venues.
