Princeton Electric Speedboating (PES) is a 100% student-run organization at Princeton University dedicated to pushing the boundaries of electric marine technology and advancing sustainability in the global marine industry. Our work is twofold: we design, build, test, and race fully electric boats at competitions across the country. When we\'re not busy with that, we also break world records. In 2023, our team was successful in breaking the official world speed record for an electric boat at 114.20 mph. But we\'re not stopping there. Originally founded in 2020 by 6-7 mechanical engineers with a dream, we have rapidly grown to be a team of over 100 undergraduate and graduate students at the forefront of electric marine performance. By giving Princeton students valuable hands-on engineering experience and familiarity with cutting-edge technology, we are committed to preparing the next generation of elite leaders.
