He focuses on high-stakes patent litigation in district and appellate courts. He also has extensive experience litigating intellectual property disputes at the International Trade Commission (ITC) in Section 337 investigations. Mr. Orlady’s practice routinely involves complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes on matters with global implications for his clients. Mr. Orlady’s experience spans all phases of litigation including pre-suit diligence, fact discovery, expert discovery, claim construction, dispositive motions, trial, and post-trial briefing. Mr. Orlady also has extensive experience preparing for, defending, and taking important depositions. Mr. Orlady brings value to matters having been part of five trial teams, providing invaluable understanding of how to build cases to win at all phases of litigation. Mr. Orlady advises on life science technologies, having litigated cases on behalf of industry-leading clients in the following fields: small molecule pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and antibodies. Mr. Orlady also has significant experience assisting clients license their intellectual property. In addition to his intellectual property practice, Mr. Orlady dedicates his time to pro bono matters and is a member of the PTAB Bar Association. Mr. Orlady earned his JD from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he received Latin Honors and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also received the Faculty Book Award, highest grade, for Advanced Patents. In addition, he was the lead articles editor for the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science and Technology.
