About Will Kane

I\'m a second-year Education major at Gonzaga University, working toward teacher certification. I have a passion for creating inclusive, community-driven learning environments, both inside and outside the classroom.At the heart of my work is a commitment to equity, youth empowerment, and holistic education. I design and lead extracurricular programs for Spokane Public Schools, combining athletics, financial literacy, and mentorship to support elementary students\' growth. I’m also the founder of a walking school bus initiative that fosters safe commuting, physical activity, and community connection—all in partnership with Gonzaga, Communities in Schools, and local public schools.Beyond the classroom, I serve as a trip leader for Gonzaga Outdoors, hold Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification, and work summer jobs catering events and providing childcare. I’m also gaining valuable experience through internships with Salem Lutheran Church and Spokane Public Schools, helping shape youth programming and implement urban planning strategies for safer access to school resources.Whether leading outdoor adventures or building after-school programs, my goal is always to create environments where young people feel safe, seen, and inspired to grow.
