ABOUT WILL HORTER
Will Horter has been a principled and effective campaigner for his entire adult life. His strategies are inclusive and based on relationships and respect, and his tactics range from grassroots organizing to precision political intervention. His work has changed the landscape of environmental and democracy campaigning in British Columbia. As the Executive Director of DogwoodBC for 18 years, Will was the architect behind more than 50 campaigns. Notable highlights include the Sacred Headwaters, Save BC Public Lands, and Coalbed Methane. His campaigns get results. In 550 days from initiation to victory, his Ban Big Money campaign netted the second strongest campaign finance laws in Canada after Quebec. He is also committed to the long haul. His award-winning No Tankers campaign took most of a decade, but success has meant that BC\'s coastal ecosystems are protected from the disastrous effects of tanker-based oil spills. Will is a bootstrapper at heart. Though he has built and run his own organizations, he is also skilled at taking groups on the brink of failure and turning them into thriving operations. His current work as CEO of Action CoLab he helps groups amplify their efforts to make positive change.Like tennis, campaigns aren\'t won by lobbing the ball up the middle of the court, to win you have to hit to the lines.
