About Will Johnson

Will Johnson leads Verizon’s regulatory affairs group and has responsibility for representing Verizon on a wide range of issues, including spectrum policy, before the FCC and all other federal and state regulatory agencies. He also represents Verizon in related appellate litigation. Since joining Verizon’s regulatory legal group in 2004, Will has spent much of his time focusing on broadband, video, and Internet issues, as well as network transformation and other emerging issues. Before joining Verizon in 2004, Will was a litigator at Hogan & Hartson in Washington, DC, and before that at Long, Aldridge & Norman in Atlanta, GA. He also clerked for Chief Judge R. Lanier Anderson and for Judge Ed Carnes, each on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Will currently serves on several boards, including the Emory College Alumni Board, the International Institute of Communications, the Media Institute, and the National Exchange Carriers Association. He previously served as Chairman of the Board for Miriam’s Kitchen, a nonprofit aimed at ending chronic homelessness in Washington, D.C. The IIC exists to inform and thereby shape the global policy agenda for the information and communication technology (ICT) and digital ecosystem. IIC members believe that the impact of technological innovation on society should be evaluated and discussed openly and that policy and regulation should both maximize the public interest and promote innovation and investment.
