About Will Gifford

I have spent my 20 year career applying statistical and machine learning models to complex problems for in the energy industry, helping energy utilities make the data available to them more useful, currently working with an amazing team of data scientists and engineers at E Source. Together, we develop solutions that transform customer analytics from one off research analyses to critical operational tools at utilities. Prior to joining TROVE in 2016 (acquired by E Source in 2020), at DNV GL I led projects to quantify demand side management and distribution efficiency resources, and provide strategic consulting regarding their integration into wholesale markets. I proudly started my career serving a number of analytical roles for the US Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA), especially related to end-use survey research and conditional demand analysis of the residential, commercial, and manufacturing sectors. I am a wolverine, holding a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics and BS in Statistics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
