I perform witness testing for acceptance of new P3010 Light Rail Vehicles (LRV). These tests include (1k) Burn-In Testing, Dynamics Testing, ATP/ATO/TWC Testing, Monitoring and Diagnostic System Static Testing, Communications and Automatic Announcement Testing, and Pre 1k Burn-In Walkthroughs.*I planned, performed and reported testing on a LA Metro Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) that had issues with unwarranted Electromagnetic Interference Detector (EMID) faults. For the tests, Mr. Choi used DataPhysics SignalCalc data acquisition and processing tool to record and analyze the amplitudes of the harmonic components of the pantograph current and voltage and Conducted Emissions (CE) for propulsion and braking modes, with a range of auxiliary electric loads to determine why the EMID is tripping.*I performed and reported on EMI Qualification testing to a Wayside Energy Storage System (WESS) on the LA Metro Gold Line (MGL), using DataPhysics SignalCalc to record and analyze WESS CE in all modes of operation, comparing the results to the MGL per-train CE limits*I prepared layered analysis Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of the Green Light Rail Center, identifying locations of tracks, Insulated Joints (IJs), bonding cables, and feeder returns. This analysis was used to investigate the causes of magnetization of running rails. He also modeled magnetic 3D vectors on a modeled rail to show the magnetic field measurements that were taken in the field.*I performed Central Diagnostic System (CDS) Maintainability task for the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) program for the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) M-9 Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) project. He identified CDS items and components as Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and Lowest Level Replaceable Units (LLRUs) to designate the maintainability of those components in the system’s life cycle.
