I’m a dual board-certified Thoracic and General Surgeon, certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Queen’s University. I currently serve as Director of Interprofessional Education and Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigeneity, and Accessibility (EDIIA) in the MD Program at Queen’s University.From 2021 to 2024, I served as Chair of Surgical Patient Safety & Quality Improvement for the Department of Surgery, leading initiatives to enhance outcomes, reduce complications, and strengthen a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.My academic work focuses on fostering collaborative, inclusive learning environments and advancing patient safety through education, research, and systems improvement.
