For the past year, I have been conducting research at the Pitt Liver Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where I work several days a week on projects related to liver disease, tumor development, and tissue regeneration. This experience has allowed me to develop hands-on skills in histopathology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and fluorescence microscopy. My work has primarily involved analyzing protein expression patterns in liver tissues, using IHC staining and confocal microscopy to study how different proteins contribute to disease progression and regeneration. I have also been involved in examining molecular pathways, such as Wnt and Yap signaling, to better understand their role in cell regeneration and metabolic processes. Additionally, I have worked with tissue collection and processing, handling both healthy and diseased liver and spleen samples.I have also had the opportunity to analyze in vivo models to study tumor growth and liver disease progression. My experience with RStudio for statistical analysis has helped me interpret complex datasets, quantify protein expression patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions from biological data, further strengthening my ability to contribute to this research.
