I lead a small (and growing!) workforce which is dedicated to furthering the mission of the Douglas County Historical Society. In addition to preserving and enlightening the history of our County, DCHS operates the General Crook House Museum, a historical home built in 1879 and located on the historic Fort Omaha campus (now occupied by Metropolitan Community College). DCHS offers research services, educational outreach, and similar programming relevant to the Omaha community and beyond. DCHS is committed to making the shared past of Douglas County, Nebraska relevant to today\'s community in a variety of ways. Throughout 2025, we expect to announce a number of strategic and meaningful collaborations with local organizations that will continue to bolster our mission and preserve history for generations to come.
