About Whitney Vong

I am passionate about being a part of the change that conserves and protects habitats for our biodiversity, while promoting green space creation so that nature can be shared with all. As a Senior Program Officer within the Restoration Team at the Chesapeake Bay Trust, I manage awards that support a healthier Chesapeake Bay through tree planting, stormwater management, community gardens, and more. I\'m also interested in using geographic information systems (GIS) to communicate one\'s work and understanding the implications of environmental change on our species and their environments.I\'m a graduate from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy with a concentration in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology and a minor in GIS.    Continue to manage various large and small grant programs across the Trust’s restoration program portfolio, including Anne Arundel County Watershed Restoration and Forestry, Prince George’s County Stormwater Stewardship, Prince George’s County Community Gardens Mini Grant, and Maintenance Small Grants. Continue to lead the Trust\'s interactive Awarded Projects map and other mapping efforts.Communicate effectively with awardees and program partners to ensure that projects are successful and partnership goals are met.
