As a journalist for Delta Farm Press, I get to share all the great agricultural news from the five Delta states. My primary region is Arkansas and the bootheel of Missouri. However, I also cover western Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana territories. My experience includes- Networking to developing stories and content valuable to Farm Press readership- Developing story leads for Farm press, conducting interviews and writing short and long copy to cover timely and valuable ag related information- Photography of cover shots and photojournalism to enhance both short and long copy- Regularly update the Farm Progress website by publishing stories and photos of my authorship- Farm Press social media posts on X, Facebook, and Instagram to boost reach and engagement- Regular use of Adobe suite applications like Photoshop, Premier, and Illustrator- Use of Canva to create social media graphics- Regular participation in editorial meetings and roundtable discussions for publication editing and career development- Training sessions to increase SEO, ensure content is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, and finetune writing skills and strategies- Attend an array of conferences, meetings, and summits - both ag and communications related - to network and enhance my skillset
