Technical Fellow leading Advanced/Emerging Materials, Materials 4.0 and Grinding in the subtractive technology team.Advanced materials such as ceramics, CMCs (ceramic matrix composites), novel metallic and other emerging materials offer benefits which cannot be matched by conventional materials. There are many challenges with integrating these materials into production and in our team we tackle the challenges of taking bulk materials and developing the subtractive machining strategies to enable their use.This includes the evaluation of high performance tooling strategies, digitisation of high value materials and damage evaluation in these advanced materials.
