About William Ferrell
My parents used to take me to construction sites and to the runway on the military base I lived on. As a child it was evident that I was fascinated by how things work and was constantly evaluating why things do what they do. That curiosity and desire to solve problems remains to this day. In the lab, at home, or in the mountains, I like combing through my personal experiences and knowledge to figure out a solution. In keeping with that theme, I solve problems every day as a materials and research engineer. Critical thinking, reading, and writing have been a staple of my day to day activities since my days as an undergraduate researcher. I used these to consistently add to technical literature, publishing as an undergraduate, a graduate student, and now as a professional. I believe that hands-on technical prowess is only as good as your ability to communicate those results. Beyond the office I am an active participant in endurance sports and adventure athletics. It is a large part of who I am and my best ideas often come miles deep in the woods away from society. Lessons learned in the woods or traveling the world are often as valuable or more valuable than those learned in a classroom. Determination and grit are not one off battles but rather a constant way of life and far off goal. Interested in working together? Going on a little adventure? Swapping stories? Let\'s connect!
