About Will Hester
I love growing companies, teams, and individuals with modern technologies, frameworks, and tools while wearing as many hats as I can. I\'ve had the pleasure of executing on that front in growing with the Engineering organization at DraftKings from 16 to to founding and leading the Product Development department at Sports Info Solutions, advising Gambly, and investing + advising in startups across the Bitcoin/blockchain/Web3, sports tech, software automation, and technical hiring spaces.My passion for sports is only matched by my fire for constantly iterating and improving products using the latest technologies. The intersection of the two is where I spend most of my time, which is most-obvious in my work experience, but also extends into my DFS success. Combining sporting data from multiple sources using a Node.js server that feeds a MySQL database empowers me to input raw and feature-engineered data into GCP-run TensorFlow machine learning/AI models that, combined with extensive spreadsheets, inform my decision-making to generate linearly-optimized outputs in parallel, simulate their ranges of outcomes, and to ultimately be profitable at DFS. Learning new technologies like these, on the job or off, gets me excited to share and combine across all the companies and projects I\'m involved in.This curiosity and urge to learn extends beyond sports, from mining Bitcoin in 2011 to actually being excited about reading financial prospectuses, and simply meeting + connecting smart individuals to better the companies I\'m involved with.
