About Angela Wheeler

With over 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and communications, I am a strategic leader who oversees and coordinates development programs that support campaign fundraising goals. My core competencies include fundraising, fundraising operations, donor relations, strategic communications, high-profile event planning, client relationship management, moves management, strategic planning, high-level volunteer management, and team building. I have a passion for projects that incorporate greater equity and inclusion. A signature endeavor under my leadership includes a partnership between the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and a 90-member African-American orchestra to form an inaugural orchestra-in-residence at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. In my previous roles, I managed high-profile, black-tie events that raised more than $1.5 million annually for the American Heart Association; and, published 6 nationally-circulated trade magazines for various social change organizations. I also own a consulting firm that delivers customized strategic fundraising and communications services for non-profit leaders. I hold an MBA specializing in Project Management from Aspen University and a bachelor\'s degree in psychology from the University of Delaware.
